This October, the shadows deepen in Hauts-de-France. On Saturday October 18th at Le Métaphone in Oignies and Sunday October 19th at L’Aéronef in Lille, Tyrant Fest 2025 emerges as more than a festival - it’s a ritual of extreme sound. Two cities, two venues, one oppressive atmosphere. The billing, you ask? Apart from headliners such as Alcest or Paradise Lost the schedule of this year's edition showcases some highly interesting underground bands as well.
On Saturday, Alcest and Imperial Triumphant will lead the charge — the former weaving post-black metal beauty and the latterunleashing guttural, avantgarde decay into the air. They will be flanked by acts like The Great Old Ones, Limbes, Sang Froid, and Alkerdeel who each bring their own shade of shadow to the stage. Sunday belongs to legends and gloom: Paradise Lost, the doom-gothic titans; Messa from Italy, who offer vast, funeral-like expanses of sound; and Sinsaenum, Asagraum, Firtan, and Ataraxie - each name a promise of dread and atmosphere.
Tyrant Fest has always been more than a mere metal festival - it’s a gathering of the devout, of those who revel in the liminal hours between dusk and nightmare. This year marks a turning point: the first time the organizers plan the event in two iconic venues, expanding its footprint without sacrificing its solemn core.
